The 1st & 2nd of August  sees the return of the incredibly popular Chale Show, which usually attracts over 10,000 visitors and raises money for a variety of local charities. One of these is the Earl Mountbatten Hospice – an independent charity providing comprehensive end-of-life healthcare for the Isle of Wight community.  They support and care for people living with and dying from a life-limiting illness.

The Chale Show, which is hosted at Chale Show Ground near Ventnor, offers all the best bits of a traditional village show but on a bigger and better scale. It’s a bit hit with Islanders and tourist alike, so get ready for a weekend packed full of things to do – with something for all ages!

For little kids there is the childrens fun zone with activities including arts & crafts, performance workshops and facepainting. For big kids and adults, there is the Main arena with exciting acts and displays as well as the fairground, full of fun rides.

Everybody can find the wide variety of vintage and steam vehicles interesting and there is just as much variety to be heard on the Hospice fundraising Sunflower live music stage. If you fancy a spot of shopping then there is plenty to browse through, including an arts & crafts, antique & market and farmers market tents.

There is also a wide variety of food & drink outlets, as well as a fully-licensed bar, as well as some much needed ice cream vans!
